Q&A
Mr Lee Rogers
Vice President – USA
1. What inspired you to choose podiatry?
I chose podiatry because it is uniquely hands-on and problem-solving focused. You can diagnose, treat, operate, and follow patients over time, which creates real continuity and trust. Very early in training, I saw the difference limb preservation makes for people and families, and that mission stuck with me.
2. What ambitions and goals do you have as a member of the FIP Board?
As Vice President, I am focused on building partnerships and strengthening systems that support member countries, elevate standards, and expand the global visibility of podiatry. I also aim to deepen collaboration across our federation and grow strategic relationships that empower both member organizations and individual podiatrists. Ultimately, my goal is to advance care and clearly demonstrate the value of podiatric medicine across diverse health systems worldwide.
3. What motivates you in your work?
I am motivated by training the next generation of podiatrists and helping them grow into confident clinicians and leaders. I care about strengthening our profession by identifying
and fostering young leaders and building teams that make excellent podiatric care repeatable. Finally, I am driven to keep podiatry “ahead of the curve” by embracing new technology and advances early, then translating them into practical tools and workflows that can be adopted broadly across podiatric practice settings
4. What is a hidden talent (or surprising skill) you have?
While it may not sound like a traditional “talent,” I am very skillful at limiting clutter, noise, and unnecessary drama. I try to reduce unimportant decisions so I can stay focused on what matters most in my life and will make a difference with my work.
